Instrumental: 🔥🔥🔥 3/5: Meek Mill owns the build up intro track bag and Zaytoven owns the piano lead. I understand the intent, but it’s been done so much in recent memory.

Engineering (Because Mixing Matters!): 🔥🔥🔥3/5: This track is sparse in regards to instrumentation, but the vocals still seem cloudy, as there are doubles and even triples on the punches that are out of phase. M.A. has a gravely tone, and stacking those vocal tones on top of each other without gain staging can be detrimental to the clarity of each verses.

Lyrical Content: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 5/5: M.A. always shoots from the hip and on this track it was refreshing to hear some personal perspective. And best believe, the bars were there as well.

Flow: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 5/5: Young M.A. has one of the most distinct, creative, avant guard, flows in the game. It really reminds me of Freeway, not in tone or energy, but more so rhyme scheme. Both artist are severely under-appreciated in that regard.

Perform-ability (Will an audience engage with this song?): 🔥🔥🔥 3/5: This is a quick intro, which may make for a quick hit in a live performance. The track builds and when it drops; any crowd would go crazy.

Overall?: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 3.8 / 5: Young M.A. is one of the hardest rappers out and this intro just reinforces that notion. I personally believe she isn’t getting the love she deserves because she doesn’t appeal to the traditional male gaze ie They some haterz. But check out her debut album, “Herstory in the Making” which is full of BANGERS!
